This tutorial demonstrates how to replace an Engine Control Module (ECM, also known as ECU and PCM) in a Holden VF Commodore.
This programming is suitable for all Holden VF Commodores, VF HSVs, 2014-2017 Chevrolet Caprice PPV and Chevrolet SS.
The demonstration was performed on a V6 engine fitted with an E39A engine computer, although the exact same procedure is required for V8 vehicles fitted with either an E38 or E67 engine computer.
The main steps required to program a replacement ECM includes:
1) Perform OS/Calibrations Flash Write.
2) Tyre Size Configuration Learn.
3) VIN Security Link.
4) Immobilizer Security Link.
5) Clutch Pedal Position Learn (*Only if Manual) and Crankshaft Position Variation Learn (For both Automatic and Manual Vehicles).
