Get started with OBDSync

Thank you for choosing OBDSync, it means the world to us. Follow the three steps below to install the software, add your tokens and connect your tool. Matt and Jason are here to help if you get stuck.

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) PC
  • Internet connection needed
  • Token Serial arrives by email

  • Use a battery maintainer when programming

Programming a module needs a fully charged battery. Connect a battery maintainer so the voltage stays up for the whole job.

  • Unplug the tool when you’re done

Left plugged into the vehicle, it slowly drains the battery, and a battery left very flat for a long time can damage the tool.

  • Keep it dry

Don’t leave the tool anywhere wet or damp. Moisture can damage it.

1

Install OBDSync on your PC

Sign in to your obdsync.com account to open the Downloads page (registration is free), then install:

  1. The OBDSync Installer.
  2. .NET Framework 4.7.2 and the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, if your PC doesn’t have them yet. Both are linked on the Downloads page.

If your antivirus flags OBDSync, it’s a false positive: add OBDSync to its safe list.

Your PC needs genuine, activated Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit, set up in English, not S mode or LTSC), at least 8 GB of RAM and a 2 GHz processor. OBDSync isn’t supported in virtual machines.

Sign in and add your tokens

We email your Token Serial with your order information. Not in your inbox? Check your junk or spam folder.

  2. Click Settings on the left of the app.
  3. Enter your Token Serial under Add Tokens and redeem it.
3

Connect your tool

Connect the tool to your PC with its USB cable and plug it into the vehicle’s OBD2 port. The three lights on top show what it’s doing.

Status
