How to Program a Holden VE Commodore Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

This tutorial demonstrates programming a replacement Holden VE Commodore EBCM using OBDSync.

These modules are common for failure and typically require a trip to the dealership to replace. Typical symptoms include loss of communication, ABS/ESP errors on the instrument cluster along with vehicle not starting.

Using OBDSync, this can be performed by anyone within a matter of minutes. The entire processing only requires the click of a few buttons to perform the programming and security linking of a replacement EBCM.

An overview of this programming includes:

1) Perform a Flash write to ensure the correct operating system and calibrations are programmed for your vehicle (Ensure battery maintainer/Charger is fitted).

2) Perform VIN security link learn action.

3) Perform steering angle sensor learn action Once completed, any pending faults can then be cleared and the replacement is completed.

This procedure is suitable for all Holden VE Commodores, HSV VE, Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet Caprice PPVs.
